The Best Locations For A Timeless Elopement In The Dolomites
So, you’re thinking about an elopement in the Dolomites? First of all, sweet choice. An elopement in the Dolomites is wild, intimate, and free from the stress of seating charts and awkward small talk with your mom’s second cousin’s uncle’s brother.
To me, the Dolomites are basically nature’s version of a grand cathedral, minus the walls, plus way more adventure. And if an elopement out in nature isn’t your thing, you also have a selection of cathedrals and chalets to help turn your elopement into an extraordinary experience.
Are you up for the adventure of a lifetime but not sure which location is right for you? I’ve got you covered. Time to chat about my favorite locations for an elopement in the Dolomites!
Dolomites Elopement Locations – So Many Options!
The best part about eloping in the Dolomites is that you’ve got options. Like, lots of them. For those who crave adventure, the Dolomites offer an untamed outdoor element that is almost unreal and totally cinematic.
I’m talking about emerald lakes, rolling meadows, dramatic cliffs, and scenic backdrops for an elopement in the Italian Alps that will take your photos (and memories) to the next level. Just keep in mind that some outdoor spots may require permits or have specific rules when it comes to elopements, hiking, etc. Honestly, it’s nothing too complicated, but definitely worth checking out in advance.
For those who like a little structure (or just don’t want to gamble with mountain weather), the Dolomites also have stunning hotels, chalets, and historic lodges that make for ridiculously romantic indoor elopements.
No matter what you choose, your photos are sure to be Pinterest-worthy with jaw-dropping views and an unmatched adventure that will have you reminiscing for years to come.
So, without further ado, it’s time to get into some of my favorite outdoor locations to elope!

Tips & Tricks For Getting Married In The Dolomites
Eloping in the Dolomites is an unforgettable experience, and my goal is to help also make it super easy, so here are my tips and tricks for the perfect Dolomites elopement.
First, I always suggest creating an elopement timeline. For example, your day could start with a sunrise first look, a mid-morning hike to your ceremony spot, a relaxed picnic, golden-hour portraits, and a cozy dinner back at your chalet.
This should be more detailed, of course, but it’s not something to stress about either. If you go with me as your Dolomites elopement photographer, I will plan it with you, keeping the mountain light in mind (because peaks change sunrise and sunset times!).
Plus, I’ve got a trusted network of vendors I can help hook you up with as well, from florists to the best local pâtisserie.
It’s also worth mentioning that the Dolomites’ dreamy colors are an ideal match for film photography and Super 8 films (which I offer!). But nature can be unpredictable, and weather shifts fast up here, so when it comes to attire, note that solid footwear and layers are a must.
Timing-wise, late spring to early fall is ideal for warmer temps, while winter elopements bring a whole different kind of ambiance and beauty!
And when it comes to getting around, a rental car is key, but if mountain driving isn’t your thing, I’ve got you. I’ve driven plenty of couples through these winding roads and seen them safely eloped.
Another fun fact: Half of my family is from the Dolomites (shoutout to my wife’s side!), so I don’t just know the famous spots, I know all the little secret spots, too.
