A Cinematic Sunrise in Tuscany

There’s something wildly poetic about waking up while the rest of the world is still asleep. When we pulled up to Agriturismo Baccoleno in the early hours, the sky was still deep blue and quiet. It’s one of those places you can’t quite believe is real — nestled in the Crete Senesi of Val d’Orcia, with its winding cypress road and golden hills. Aurora and Christian, a super lovely couple (who just happen to be wedding photographers themselves), met me here for their sunrise couple session. That’s the thing about Tuscany: it gives you magic, but it’s up to you to meet it early. And when you do, the reward is unforgettable.

The Magic of Agriturismo Baccoleno

As the first light crept over the hills, Baccoleno began to glow in that soft, golden light Tuscany is famous for. We had the entire area to ourselves – just nature, a light breeze, and the warm connection between Aurora and Christian. Shooting at sunrise here means cinematic light, peaceful surroundings, and space to breathe. It’s not just a photo location – it’s a whole mood. This is why I love offering couple photo shoots in Tuscany — especially in these less busy, early morning hours.

Why Sunrise Sessions in Tuscany Are So Special

What I love most about sunrise shoots — especially in Tuscany — is the atmosphere. There’s this calm energy that fills the air and brings out the best in every moment. No tourists, no distractions, just space to connect. And when your couple understands the light, the mood, the moment — like Aurora and Christian did — that’s when the magic really happens. It’s not just about taking pretty photos; it’s about creating an experience that sticks.

From Rolling Hills to Cobblestone Streets – Welcome to Pienza

After soaking in every last bit of golden hour, we headed to Pienza — one of the most picturesque towns in Val d’Orcia, tucked between Montepulciano and Montalcino. It’s the kind of place where you want to slow down and just explore. We wandered through quiet alleyways, with stone walls glowing in the morning sun and flower boxes peeking out of shuttered windows. This town adds something unique to every shoot: a more urban, yet still romantic, Tuscan vibe.
